A document collection is only the beginning. The real task is to reconstruct what happened: which events connect, where accounts diverge and what the evidence actually supports. That is the problem Pramana is built around.

The reconstruction problem

Legal work needs software for managing matters, reviewing documents and finding information. Evidence reconstruction asks a different question: how do those fragments fit together into an account that can withstand scrutiny?
Pramana puts that question at the centre. Its focus is the passage from scattered material to chronology, from chronology to hypotheses, and from hypotheses to an evidence-led assessment.
Rebuild the sequence.
A structured timeline brings events into relation. What happened first? What followed? Where does the sequence depend on an assumption rather than an established fact?
Form a hypothesis.
A chronology becomes useful when it supports an explanation that can be tested. What account fits the material? What other explanation could fit it just as well?
Keep it open to challenge.
Every reconstruction needs room for contradiction, missing evidence and revision. A persuasive account is one whose basis can be examined, not simply one that reads fluently.
